Call to artists! Celebrate open-air painting in picturesque Chesterfield Township, New Jersey on October 13, 2018. Chesterfield Township is made up of 3 charming historic villages, Crosswicks, Chesterfield and Sykesville, and acres of rustic rural landscapes and traditional working farms. Chesterfield Township offers the outdoor painter numerous inspirational subjects.
This Plein Air event is sponsored by the Chesterfield Township Historical Society. A maximum number of 25 artists will be accepted for the Chesterfield Plein Air on a first-come, first-served basis with a $25 registration fee. A registration form is attached. You can also obtain a registration form by emailing Debbie Kelly at email@example.com to request one. Judging will take in the evening of October 13th at the Historical Society’s headquarters at 2 Front Street, Crosswicks, NJ 08515.
Artists are invited to paint scenes within Chesterfield Township between the present time and October 13th; however the one painting submitted for judging must be painted on Saturday, October 13th between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Judging will take place at 4:00 p.m., and cash awards will total more than $1000. Paintings will be exhibited at a reception from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., where artists will sell their paintings of Chesterfield Township to the public with 30% of the sale designated as a donation to the Chesterfield Township Historical Society. Artists do not have to be present at the reception. The Historical Society will handle all purchase payments, and will attempt to provide payment to artists within 10 days of the sale.
