This ThrowbackThursday is about the former Chesterfield Elementary School!
On Tuesday, December 8th, 1964 from 5pm-9pm, residents were asked to decide on a proposal for a township K-6 school not to exceed $497,000. The Chesterfield Township Elementary School on Crosswicks-Chesterfield Road opened for its first full school year on September 8th, 1966. This Throwback Thursday comes from the Shadyrest Bible Church on Crosswicks-Chesterfield Road!
The Chesterfield mansion was purchased in 1946. Over 50 years later, the time came for a big renovation project. In September of 2002, the church broke ground on a sanctuary expansion project. Top Photo: Left- Harriet Garren, Right- Rev. Virgil D. Garren |
